Church of Sant Miquel
It is one of the oldest and most picturesque church-fortresses on the island and stands on the top of the hill of Puig de Sant Miquel in the north of the island. There are no reliable data but its origin dates back to the 13th or 14th century.
This church is very original with respect to the rest of the churches on the island because it is in the shape of a cross and consists of two perpendicular bodies. The main nave is the body that goes from east to west and has a presbytery and high altar to the east, a vaulted nave, six chapels and a main door on the south wall for men. The other nave, which runs from north to south, has a vault with circular arches, four chapels and a door for women. This is one of the churches with the largest surface area.
In front of the door of the main nave, there is a rectangular portico with arches and supports on each side of the door and a huge courtyard around the parish house. In this courtyard, every Thursday in the summer, exhibitions of "ball pagès" (typical dance) are organised.
The parish festival is held on 29 September, the feast of St. Michael.
